Station One Ithaca comes into view
Ithaca, NY
Standard Hydrogen (SHC) is delighted to announce early news of a forthcoming installation in Ithaca, NY. The City of Ithaca has adopted a very strong Green New Deal plan, which will move the entire building inventory of the City to a zero-emission basis over the coming years. To do this, versatile energy storage is being deployed as a critical part of the plan.
“This is a way to be able to fuel future electric TCAT buses or school buses. There are a million different uses without passing on that cost to ratepayers.”
Rebecca Evans, Director of Sustainability, City of Ithaca
Together with the local transit bus operator, Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) and other partners, SHC plans to deploy its patent-pending Energy Transfer System to help source, dispatch and reduce the costs of renewable energy. Using green hydrogen for electrical energy storage opens the potential for powering everything from buildings to buses to other vehicles with renewable electricity.
More details about this installation coming soon.
